Breaking News: Comr. Emmanuel Gregory becomes IFIP International Young IT Award winner

IFIP International Young IT Award Winners Announced

IFIP, the International Federation for Information Processing launched IFIP International Young IT Awards 2016 earlier this year. This recognition scheme for IT industry is organized by InterYIT, the International Young IT Group of IFIP.

The objectives of the Awards scheme are to recognize Young IT Professionals around the world at Global level for their achievements, connect up and coming IT Professionals with the world and help them grow to greater heights in their careers.

There were three awards presented and they are, IFIP International Young IT Professional of the Year, IFIP International Young IT Entrepreneur of the Year and IFIP International Best Student IT Project of the Year.
The applications were invited from across the world and there were many applications representing many countries in the world.

The candidates were evaluated by a globally representative evaluation committee. Evaluation committee members were IFIP InterYIT Representative (Chair or his nominee) Yasas V. Abeywickrama, two IFIP General Assembly Members Elizabeth East Wood (New Zealand) and Lawrence Gudza (Zimbabwe), one University academic invited by IFIP InterYIT Professor Bipin Mehta (Former President Computer Society of India) and one Industry professional invited by IFIP InterYIT Michelle Beveridge (Former Chair, ACS in Victoria State).

The winners of the competition were – Serene Ng Tze Ying (From Malaysia)- IFIP International Best Student IT Project of the Year 2016, Dr Dhesi Baha Raja (From Malaysia) – IFIP International Young IT Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 and Emmanuel Gregory Essiet (From Nigeria) – IFIP International Young IT Professional of the Year 2016.
The award winners were presented with their awards in Sydney, at the Australian Computer Society’s (ACS) Reimagination Conference, which had been organized in conjunction with the 50th year celebrations of the ACS.


IFIP President Professor Mike Hichey and IFIP InterYIT Chair Yasas V. Abeywickrama were part of the awards presentation.
